Ralph Middleton

Ralph Middleton is an outsider artist who lived in New York and Los Angeles. Frequently homeless he even lived for a time lived under a bridge. Technically and thematically his paintings fall into two broad categories. The first consists of abstract pieces with broad “dollops” of color adjacent to each other reminiscent of some the work by Hans Hoffman. His other works are figurative abstracts that are suggestive of a haunted landscape of goblins and other phantasms.
His works have been featured in many prominent folk museum collections across the country.
